Action Plan Workshop in Rulindo District
In June 2024, Health Builders supported an action plan workshop hosted in Rulindo District to help health centers improve management, achieve financial stability, and secure financing.
In an effort to improve patient safety and the quality of healthcare services in Rwanda, the Ministry of Health launched the Hospital Health Sector Strategic Plan and annual action planning process. This initiative aims to establish common hospital activities and indicators to measure outcomes across various health programs.
From June 10-14, 2024, Rutongo District Hospital in Rulindo District organized a planning workshop for all health centers in the district's catchment area. Based on last year’s budget execution, action planning, and budget evaluation, the hospital deemed it necessary to create a joint action plan to effectively monitor all activities outlined in the current action plan for 2024-2025.
A dedicated action plan team was formed to oversee and lead planned activities across departments and analyze community needs assessment. The group included representatives from each hospital, health center staff managers, the accountants, and Health Builders staff (Health Management Advisor of Rulindo District). Planning collaboratively in this diverse group of leaders created an inclusive planning process built from input from various service representatives.
Throughout the planning session, Health Builders provided support to the district hospital by:
offering guidance and coaching to health center managers and accountants on utilizing the operational plan template, budget provisions
prioritizing health center activities
monitoring and evaluation templates
The health centers in Rulindo are extremely appreciative of the support they received.
Umutesi Jacqueline, the Health Centre Manager of Masoro HC, expressed her deep gratitude for the unwavering support provided by the Health Builders team:
Health Builders is proud to collaborate with the Rulindo District to enhance the management skills of health centers, ensuring stable financial management.
